Massage

Peer massage stimulates the sense of touch.  It allows children to relax, reducing stress and anxiety.  Massage allows children to focus their monkey mind onto the senses which quietens the mind.  It improves sleep, relationships, cognitive development, concentration and focus.  When the mind is calm cognitive development is improved.

The children can sit in a circle or make a line during this activity.

Please ensure all children ask their peers if they want to be massaged before the session.

Top Tips for all massage activites

  • Before the activity ask the child/children to relax their face, shoulders, knees and stomach
  • Play some calming music
  • Ask the child/children to concentrate on the person in front
  • Ask the child/children to focus on listening to the music, relax the whole body and focus on their senses
